The Company
An international food manufacturer, whose name and products are a household name across the world are seeking a Maintenance Technician.
The Job
Reporting to the Reliability Manager this position involves the technical management of the shift, responsible for the safe and efficient running of all assets, including diagnosing and fixing reliability (PPM) and breakdown issues throughout the factory. Working with the other reliability engineers you will help drive continuous improvement plans including power consumption and reduction. This role is also responsible and accountable for the delivery of all services (steam, air, water, gas and electricity) whilst on shift. As the senior technical person on shift you are the final escalation point for technical issues encountered by operatives on shift and for their training, coaching and technical up-skilling so your team are better equipped to deal to deal with minor issues and raise their level of self sufficiency.
The Candidate
You will be a time served engineer (multi-skilled) or graduate or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline have experience gained in a high speed manufacturing environment.
Proven knowledge of 415v distribution, motor controls, process control philosophies, hydraulics, pneumatics and a broad range of electro/mechanical devices is essential for this position.
This is a demanding role that will challenge your planning and organisational skills, along with your excellent communication and interpersonal skills that are vital for this position in order to influence decisions, negotiate change and deliver training. You will be involved in negotiations with suppliers of parts and services.
Along with the above you will have a flexible approach to your own on-going training and development, using new information and putting it into practice will ensure that you and your team will remain current and fit for purpose.
