The Company

A pioneering company who are highly specialised in orthopaedic oncology are seeking a Mechanical Inspection Supervisor to join their organisation and be part of the future for innovative prosthetic solutions.

The Job

Working in a highly regulated Medical Device Manufacturing Environment you will be responsible for the supervision, motivation and development of a small team of Quality Inspectors.  Supervising and scheduling time critical activities of employees engaged in receiving inspection, calibration and inspection.

Supporting and liaising with the Production and Design office teams to schedule all of the incoming work.  Working in a quality inspection role as required inspecting machined components.  Highlighting non conformance issues as appropriate and driving corrective actions.  Be an effective liaison point in terms of questions and advise relating to metrology, quality of finish inspection and Quality Assurance issues.

To create, document and validate inspection methods to be used as well as conduct statistical analysis of results, whilst ensuring that Health & Safety and Environmental requirements are met at all times.

The Candidate

You will have a sound mechanical engineering background with experience in a hands on measuring role within an Orthopaedic implant environment would be advantageous but not essential.  An understanding of quality system requirements as well as proven use of micrometers, Internal Micrometers, Depth Micrometers, Verniers, slip gauges, plug gauges and Mitutoyo CMM (operation and Programming) and other metrology tools.
